Board tight to framing — no loose or drummy sheets
Joints staggered; butt joints minimized and backed
Correct board type per drawings (fire-rated / moisture / abuse) in required areas
Cutouts around boxes and penetrations clean and within tolerance
Corner bead straight, secure, free of dents
Taped joints smooth — no ridging, screw pops, or cracks
